CHRIS TARBUCK NAMED AS NEW COACH

Syston RFC has appointed former Leicester Tigers & London Scottish back row forward Chris Tarbuck as its new head coach.

The team, which currently resides in the Midlands' Division 2, is hoping that Tarbuck will successfully lead it to promotion to Midlands Division 1, when he takes over from former head coach Rob Nockles in the forthcoming season. As well as his experience with the Tigers and London Scottish, Tarbuck also joins Syston with an excellent achievement record as a coach, which has seen him lead Nuneaton into Midlands Division 2 and help Leicester Lions to a fourth place finish in National Division 3.

"This is a fantastic appointment for the club and arguably one of its best in its 120 year history," explains Syston 1st XV captain Brendan Coles.

"Chris' experience, track record and rapport with the players is exactly what we need for our promotion push this season. The timing could not be better and we feel privileged to have him on board.

"Syston cruelly missed out on promotion to Division 1 last season, when it was denied on point difference. This year, fans will be keenly charting Tarbuck's progress when pre-season begins on July 3.
